I am afraid to look up, only want to hide in the corner,

Crawling on the floor, concentrating on the work;

From bedroom to living room, from up to down,

The rags are made wet and dry.

Riding on the bike going through in the urban neighborhood,

Going out of one door then into another;

Busy running between the high buildings,

I have to clean the floor after finishing the bathroom.

If Madame gives me a smile,

I feel so happy that I would want to clean the floor again and again;

If Madame says: “Thank you for your hard work!”

I would want to do the hard work everyday;

If Madame gives me a face,

I am so anxious that I immediately sweet all over;

I crawl and I kneel for 1 US$ an hour,

Madame, please just tell me what you want me to do.

Monologue:

Life is so difficult for me. I clean the floor and bathroom, and I go home washing, cooking and attending my children’s study. I do so much just to hope that my children do not need to make a living by crawling on their knees.

I feel grateful to life even though it is touch, for people at least thank me for my work. Even though my life is in between of wet and dry rags, I feel thankful that I am given a space to survive.
